Why Go Digital?

Every day more dentists and dental offices across our industry are using in-office desktop 3D printing for products and services such as night guards, whitening trays, minor aligner therapy, temporary crowns and even dentures.  A digital workflow powered by 3D printing has several advantages and differences compared to conventional workflows. But, understanding how to navigate these new digital workflows, deciding which printer would be the best fit for your dental practice, or even getting on your team on board can be a very stressful and sometimes difficult task of exploring the unknown. That’s where we come in…

Seattle Digital Dental Hub (SDDH) was established  to build a network of progressive dental providers who seek to learn digital technology and implement it in daily practice of dentistry. Led by an educator and an innovator , Dr. Rooz  Khosravi, SDDH serves to guide our members into the digital dental age with interactive discussions, hands-on training and implementation overviews. Additionally, you will benefit from one-to-one meetings with Dr. Rooz, and networking with other local dental professionals in an engaging and fun atmosphere. We strive to help offices create and expand on their digital workflows, increasing the benefits of implementing 3D printing technology in their treatment planning.

CONVENIENT: Imagine this - you receive a call from a patient who lost their retainers, but due to covid, your lab’s office hours have changed and they’re not as readily available to make replacements. What now!? For an office who digitizes their patient cases every step of the way, fabricating a new set of retainers without seeing the patient in person is 100% doable. How? Print the models in-office and fabricate the retainers yourself! You can place them in the mail and have them out the door and in your patient’s hands the next day.

MODERNIZED: Dentistry has been revolutionized in how we render care to our patients. Dr. Kay, DDS sums this up as “As the technologies have continued to evolve, the distinctions between digital dentistry and ‘regular dentistry’ have quickly begun to vanish.” (Dental Economic 2017). Digital technology, specifically CAD/CAM derived dentistry including desktop 3D printing, allows us to deliver more personalized and faster care to our patients. The biggest hurdle is navigating your way in how to implement and how to avoid costly mistakes. The dental education programs developed in SDDH study group is the best resource for clinicians to elevate their office to the next level.

COST EFFICIENT: Practices that have already made the investment into purchasing intraoral scanners and desktop 3D printers, are primed and ready to bring production work in-office, thus saving money and delivery times on simple cases requiring models, same day crowns, minor aligner therapy and even digital dentures. Market research suggests that “in the midst of an economic downturn, businesses in all industries are worried about their bottom line. Dental offices, which typically have fewer than 10 employees, are no exception.”

BETTER PATIENT CARE: Busy patients are looking for less office visits and a one-stop-shop for all their dental needs like implant dentistry. These new trends make moving your office’s service offerings from analog-based to 3D technology-based, literally a perfect fit, and the answer to your patients search. At the end of the day, it's the patients who stand to gain the most from the advances in digital dentistry, and isn’t that the goal of every office…best in service and patient care?

INTERDISCIPLINARY DIGITAL CARE: Are you looking to provide comprehensive care to your patients? Digital technology made it easy to collaborate on treatment planning that involved orthodontics and periodontics. Build a special network of referral digital technology savvy in our club meets. SDDH dental study club offers you more than your dental society.

To boost your in-office efficiencies, consider signing up to join Seattle Digital Dental Hub - an exclusive small-group dental study club. We offer the continuing education needed to bring your practice up to speed, and hands-on implementation seminars. You’ll get unlimited access to the dental study club founder and industry leader, Dr. Rooz Khosravi, as he guides you through the unknowns of buying a printer, training the team, standardizing automated processes, and scaling your new in-office solutions. SDDH provides you with CE credits approved by the AGD-PACE program by the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD).
